What is Pi·la·tes (piˈlätēz)?

A system of stretching and strengthening exercises using special apparatus designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, balance and posture to enhance body and mental awareness together. Originally developed by Joseph Pilates.

What is Rehabilitation Pilates?

Rehabilitation Pilates is instructed by a licensed healthcare professional. Learning to do Pilates in a slow and controlled matter helps to teach the body more efficient and balanced movement to either help heal injuries or help prevent injuries. "Rehabilitation is the medical arm of restoring function." What is Pilates Apparatus?

Setup used for doing exercises and rehabilitation in a controlled matter. The apparatus can be used to challenge or assist the client.

Who is Joseph Pilates?

Joseph Pilates (1880-1967) was born in Germany and suffered many ailments as a child. He dedicated his life to improving his physical strength and managed to overcome his limitations by developing "Contrology". He is the mastermind behind the Pilates Method.
